His Study ~ A short trip into the past

Hi Study

He has watched her for days now, his study.

The details of every move and mannerism, the intonation of her voice, the cadence of her laughter. He know her as his.

He has traced the lines of her body with the fingertip of his mind’s eye, the curve of her waist, the smooth line of her legs, the soft cup of her breasts.

She is driving him mad as he goes over and over, breathing her in and out, obsessing, unable to clear his mind of her.

His interest has moved past desire to a neediness which is physical and consumes him. He knows she is naked beneath her black dress and has to stop himself from moving to rip it from her, revealing his own need.

He will wait. He knows he must, but his feelings are not quelled by his study of her, they are fueled by it.

His Study is part of the Saturday Shorts series I started where I use an image and try to write about it, limiting myself to either 100, 150 or 200 words. I haven’t posted for a few weeks as I things have been on top of me a bit but I found this image and thought it might work. It was taken by HL some time ago and I have tried to recreate the situations and feelings from the way things were at that time.

If you enjoyed reading it then you might want to check out some of my other shorts by following the link on the badge below. If you are writing your own short then be sure to leave a link in the comments to this post so that I can come and read your post.

I have also linked up to the projects below so you might want to check them out too.

  1. I can imagine the electricity sparking off each other. Him knowing what’s in front of him and her knowing his desperation. How lovely.

  2. This is so incredibly beautiful: “He has traced the lines of her body with the fingertip of his mind’s eye”
Love the image, and love the story 🙂

  3. This image has an intimacy to it that speaks to me, although I’m unsure why. Maybe it’s the same way the thought of being watched, (hunted?) speaks to me. Regardless, your short and image are both wonderful 🙂
