As long time readers will know, for the past four years I have done some form of D/s Advent Calendar for HL. I began with my Submissive Advent Calendar in 2016 as a way of making a bit of a fuss of HL because he’d had a pretty rubbish year and I wanted to do something nice for him. In addition, money was tight and so we weren’t doing much in the way of presents. Hence my calendar of 24 gifts was born.
In 2017 we discussed it and HL said that he would like to do something back for me too so we tried to take it turn about. This wasn’t quite as successful and was too confusing as one didn’t know what the other was doing so it was hard to co-ordinate. For the last two year we have done a D/s Advent Calendar where we have each come up with 12 ideas and then agreed on when they would happen ahead of time. This worked better and we had planned to do it again this year.
But we like to mix it up a bit of course. This year has been so online-based due to the isolation and social distancing and we have been very grateful to our communities online, both in terms of our blogging friends and our friends at The SafeworD/s Club. A kinky online existence is what suits us but I am aware that many others have turned to that as the only way to explore their D and s sides now that mixing in local communities is not an option. For that reason, we thought it would be nice to open it up and have a community project for Advent this year.
During the chat at the club the other night we came up with 24 ideas of tasks that we could all do and share with one another. It really isn’t set in stone so if you fancy taking part then you are welcome to interpret the tasks as you see fit. This post explains the project and how to take part and the forum where we aim to post our thoughts on it. We would be delighted if you want to take part and if so, there is a badge you can use if you want to post about it on your blog.
The aim is to have fun with friends as we approach a very different Christmas this year so feel free to interpret the tasks as you wish, mix them up, or dip in and out as and when suits you. I will aim to post about some of the tasks and will make it clear but for this reason, I will probably have less advent posts this year than previously. I was actually quite surprised when I realised that this was my 5th year of doing this so it seemed a fitting time to mix things up and change it around a little. Whether you are joining in or reading along, I hope that you get something from it.
For those looking for ideas for their own D/s advent calendars, these posts will show you the lists of the tasks I have done in previous years.

I have added this to Wicked Wednesday as the prompt is history repeating itself which I thought sort of fitted as I have done a variant of the calendar for the past 5 years. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Marie who, historically, has been a pillar of the blogging community for many years with Wicked Wednesday and a variety of other projects. Marie is one of the most community minded people I have had the pleasure of working with, and this year, I have felt privileged to have developed a much closer personal friendship with her too. Thank you Marie for all that you do for me and for this community. You are a star.
