Sometimes we are barely there. We aren’t seen, or at least parts of us aren’t seen or are overlooked. At times that can be frustrating but, at others, it can be a good thing. It can mean that we have time to watch, time to breathe, time just to be. We can slip, quietly into the scenery, becoming part of it. We are free to show what we want, to whom we want, when we want to.
But also we can find that life moves so quickly that we don’t stop to really look, to really see and appreciate what is right there in front of us. We might not see an opportunity, or the potential, or our ability to change things. It is good to slow down sometimes. To take the time. To really see what is there, and especially to see what is barely there, what may have been over looked.
I know that the past while I have become absorbed in things. At times I think we need to indulge those feelings but at others, we need to step up and be seen. It can hold us back to be focussed on the same spot. Sometimes we need permission to let go. Sometimes we need a push to see the opportunities and recognise potential and to believe we have the power to make the changes we need to.
Beautiful photo and writing missy, I like the serene and almost ghostly effect the double exposure has created.
Thank you ?
Lovely post . . . and lovely (and clever) photo !!!

Thank you 🙂
Wow, this is thought provoking.
Thank you Victoria 🙂
Yep, time to reflect and be still and sit with stuff for a bit is so important. It is something I have been very bad at but am working on changing that

I think you have had a lot on your plate too. I know that is when we have to do it but there is a small matter of time! 🙂
Subtle, serene, reflective … photo and words … nj … xx
Thanks nj x
I like your reflection here, and I like your reflection. We all need quiet time to assess things, to heal, to order our thoughts and it’s very important we take the time to do so.
Lovely image!

Thank you Marie. I think I needed it and am feeling better for taking the time 🙂
This is my favorite of the week. I also like being invisible or anonymous at times to allow myself time to slow down and really pay attention to what’s happening around and inside of me, and I think your image captures that feeling perfectly.
Oh wow – thank you Jo 🙂
Beautiful and creative
Thanks sweet 🙂
Wow such a haunting shot Missy – and your words explain it beautifully – sometimes the present is indeed a present xx
Thanks May. Feeling much stronger now ?
Beautifully haunting reflection on reflection, sometimes we need to shrink and go nearly invisible for a while to regain the strength to be seen once more x
Thanks kis. And you are right. I am lucky I have people around me who will let me do it for a while ?
Well said, and a perfect depiction of it, too!
Thank you ?
Are subtle and gorgeous shot. Fitting with your works
Thank you Cara ?
I’ve been a mere shadow on my life recently, torn in multiple directions and functioning terribly in all of them.
I know that feeling and hope that things improve for you soon. I still see you if that helps at all. ❤️
Love the image and love the edit! I can resonate so much with your words – I too need to learn how to balance and try not to burst. And it’s HARD! Sending hugs to you x
Thank you. I think it can sneak up on us sometimes. It happens to me like that at least. One minute I am managing and the next there’s a bit of a crash ❤️
This is so true. And I love how you capture the sentiment so perfectly in words and image. It’s a very wistful, wanting photo. Almost eerie…soft like a whisper in a canyon…echoing too quietly to fully hear.
Awww thank you Brigit ?
